Da ich genug Zeit habe, die ich hier verbringen kann, habe ich auch Zeit zum Ankommen und Akklimatisieren... Das Wetter war dafür wie geschaffen: sehr warm (um 26 Grad, abends 22), bewölkt und mit einem heftigen Gewitter am Mittwoch Vormittag. So verbrachte ich die ersten 3 Tage bewusst im und um das Hotel La Gondola (http://www.hotellagondola.it). Ich bewegte mich vor allem zwischen der Horizontalen (Bett oder Liegebett), dem Restaurant und dem Wasser (Meer oder Therme)... Ich habe sehr viel geschlafen, denn ich fühlte mich unendlich müde: Zuhause konnte ich einige Nächte kaum ein Auge zutun, so juckte meine Haut, die ich an einigen Stellen blutend kratzte... : (
Since I have enough time to spend here, I also have time to arrive and acclimatize... The weather was made for it: very warm (around 26 centigrade, 22 in the evening), cloudy and with a violent thunderstorm on Wednesday morning. So I spent the first 3 days consciously in and around the Hotel La Gondola (http://www.hotellagondola.it). I moved mainly between the horizontal position (bed or lounger), the restaurant and the water (sea or thermal baths)... I slept a lot because I felt infinitely tired: At home I could barely close an eye for a few nights, my skin itched that much, that I scratched it bleeding in some spots... : (

Die einzige Action war mein übliches Jogging und Schwimmen, wofür ich seit 30 Jahren 3x wöchentlich 1 Stunde Zeit finde - zuhause wie überall auf der Welt. Hier auf dem 2 km langen Marontistrand ist es harte Beinarbeit auf dem groben mit Kiesel durchsäten Sand! Das Meer hat übrigens 28 angenehme Grad.
The only action was my usual jogging and swimming, for which I find 1 hour 3 times a week since 30 years - at home and everywhere else in the world. Here on the 2 km long Maronti beach it is hard footwork on the coarse sand mixed with pebbles! By the way, the sea is pleasant 28 centigrade.

Nach einem ausgiebigen Frühstück im La Gondola mit spektakulärer Sicht auf Capri und Sant Angelo ruhte ich mich erst mal aus auf meiner herrlichen Terrasse bevor ich mich ins nächste Vergnügen stürzte: in die Hoteltherme! Dort liess ich das weiche Wasser sukzessive meine Hornhaut und Schuppen sanft entfernen... zudem genoss ich jeden Tag interessante Pool- und Grottengespräche , vor allem mit vielen Einheimischen (Grotte = Sauna in den Felsen auf heissem, dämpfendem Quellwasser). Das Thermalwasser auf Ischia sprudelt mit verschiedenen Temperaturen aus dem Boden - von kalt bis sehr heiss. Es gibt Duschen, Bäder, kleine heisse Becken und die genialen Saunagrotten. Die Urkraft der Vulkane speist Ischia mit Mineralien und Nährstoffen, die wiederum dem Körper alles geben, was er benötigt und ihn heilen... Vulkane und ihre Energie haben mich seit Kind magisch angezogen. Ich liebe sie zu besteigen, ihr Wasser und alles was auf ihrem fruchtbaren Boden wächst. Auch die Menschen sind speziell... sehr energetisch und mit der Natur verbunden, die ihnen bewusst macht, wie schnell sich alles ändern kann…
After a hearty breakfast at La Gondola with a spectacular view of Capri and Sant Angelo, I rested on my wonderful terrace before I plunged into the next pleasure: the hotel spa! There I let the soft water gradually remove my horny and scaley skin... I also enjoyed interesting pool and grotto conversations every day, especially with many locals (grotto = sauna built in the rocks on hot, steaming spring water). The thermal water on Ischia gushes out of the ground at different temperatures - from cold to very hot. There are showers, baths, small hot pools and the ingenious sauna grottos. The elemental power of the volcanos feeds Ischia with minerals and nutrients, which in turn heal our body and provide everything we need... Volcanoes and their energy have attracted me magically since childhood. I love to climb them, their water and everything that grows on their fertile soil. People are special too... very energetic and connected to nature, which makes them aware of how quickly everything can change...

Abends machte ich mich auf für einen Apero irgendwo in einer der Strandbeizen wie das Lido Sammy (https://www.facebook.com/SamueleLombardi68) - eines der wenigen, das letztes Jahr im Frühling offen war. An einem Abend machte ich einen Spaziergang über die Felsen nach Sant Angelo (es war gerade Flut, sonst kann man auch über den Strand gehen) und besuchte die Apollon Bar (https://www.hotelapollon.it), wo ich letztes Jahr fast täglich einen frisch gepressten Orangensaft genoss. Und dann löste ich mein Versprechen ein Aldo im Nachbarhotel Vittorio (http://www.hotelvittorio.com) zum Apero zu besuchen, er hatte mich am Vortag mit seinem Golfcart ein Stück nach Sant Angelo mitgenommen und bot mir prompt einen Job an!
In the evening I went for a drink somewhere in one of the beach bars like Lido Sammy (https://www.facebook.com/SamueleLombardi68) - one of the few that was open in spring last year. One evening I took a walk over the rocks to Sant Angelo (it was high tide, otherwise you can also walk over the beach) and visited the Apollon Bar (https://www.hotelapollon.it), where I enjoyed freshly squeezed orange juice almost every day last year. And then I kept my promise to visit Aldo in the neighbouring hotel Vittorio (http://www.hotelvittorio.com) for an aperitif, he had taken me a part to Sant Angelo the day before with his golf cart and he promptly offered me a job!

Zum Schluss genoss ich das geniale Abendessen im La Gondola mit atemberaubender Aussicht auf Capri und Sant Angelo. Das Restaurant lässt echt keine Wünsche offen - man denkt gar nicht dran auswärts zu essen, sondern freut sich schon auf den nächsten Abend! : )

Finally, I enjoyed brilliant dinners at La Gondola with a breathtaking view of Capri and Sant Angelo. The restaurant really leaves nothing to be desired - you don't even think about going out for dinner but look forward to the next evening! : )
