Um dem vollen Marontistrand am Wochenende zu entkommen, hatte ich heute
die alte römische Therme Cavascura (http://www.cavascura.it/terme) auf dem
Programm... Den Tag begann ich aber mit einem aktiveren Programm: meine übliche
Stunde Jogging barfuss im Bikini und Schwimmen im 28 Grad warmen Wasser! : )
In order to escape the crowded Maronti beach on the weekend, I had made up the plan to visit the old Roman thermal baths Cavascura (http://www.cavascura.it/terme) today... The day though I started with an active programme: my usual hour of jogging barefoot in my bikini and swimming in the 28 centigrade warm ocean! : )

Nach dem ausgiebigen Frühstück hier im La Gondola (http://www.hotellagondola.it) muss ich meinem Körper
jeweils erst etwas Ruhe zum Verdauen geben... sobald ich wieder Energie für
anderes hatte, machte ich mich auf den Weg zur nächsten Schlucht und dann
hinauf zur alten römischen Therme Cavascura. 10 Minuten und 500 m später traf
ich dort ein und stellte mich erst mal unter die Dusche mit warmem
Quellwasser... Das originale Quellwasser ist seeehr heiss! Letztes Jahr im Mai
bei viel kühleren Temperaturen stand ich darunter, aber jetzt bei 30 Grad am
Tag (und 25 in der Nacht) schien es mir extrem heiss. Es hat aber 2 herrlich
warme Thermalduschen, die ich am liebsten gar nicht mehr verlassen hätte...
Cavascura war bereits bekannt als die Griechen Ischia besetzten, die Römer aber machten es bekannt. Die Therme befindet sich pittoresk in einer Schlucht und die Thermalduschen, die Grottensauna, das Kneippbecken, die privaten Wannen sowie die Umkleidekabinen sind in den Felsen gehauen.
After the extensive breakfast here at the La Gondola (http://www.hotellagondola.it), I first have to give my body some rest to digest... as soon as I had energy again for other things, I made my way to the next gorge and then up to the old Roman thermal baths Cavascura. 10 minutes and 500 m later I arrived there and first took a shower with warm spring water... The original spring water is veeery hot! Last year in May with much cooler temperatures I almost enjoyed it, but now at 30 centigrade during the day (and 25 at night) it seemed extremely hot to me. But there are 2 wonderfully warm thermal showers I hardly wanted to leave...
Cavascura was already known when the Greeks occupied Ischia, but the Romans made it famous. The thermal bath is picturesquely located in a gorge and the thermal showers, the grotto sauna, the Kneipp basin, the private tubs and the changing rooms are carved into the rock.

Ich buchte das ganze Programm, so hatte ich zwischendurch auch Zeit mich
in meine Liege im Schatten zu legen: Zuerst 1 Stunde Grottensauna, Duschen und
Kneippbecken. Nach einer Pause verpasste mir Hamid, der mich bereits letztes
Jahr im Mai bepinselt hatte, eine Fangopackung am ganzen Körper. Das Fango
liess ich 20 Minuten an der Sonne trocknen, bevor ich es in einer speziellen
Dusche abwusch und es ab in meine private Thermalwanne ging! : ))
I booked the whole programme, so I had time in between to lie down in my lounger in the shade: First 1 hour of cave sauna, showers and Kneipp basin. After a break, Hamid, who had already brushed me in May last year, put a mud pack all over my body. I let the fango dry in the sun for 20 minutes before I washed it off in a special shower and then enjoyed my private thermal bath! : ))

Nach einem Glas Bio Prosecco bei Giovanni im Strandbeizli Nuovo Tropical (https://www.facebook.com/Nuovo-Tropical-179446632110929), war ich heute das erste Mal pünktlich beim Abendessen, das Marco
allabendlich mit seiner Muschel ankündigt - gehört habe ich es immer, aber
gesehen noch nie...

went for dinner on time for the first time tonight; Marco announces it every
evening with his conch - I've always heard but never seen it...
